The Alpha Intervention/Cerberus Recovery Companion Program
Headed by Peter Downing and Dave Forestier, the Cerberus Life Management (CLM) team work in concert with Alpha Intervention coaches, to act as a bridge between the intense support offered by treatment, and the challenges and realities faced when a client returns to their home and work.
They have extensive experience working with the unique needs of high profile clients and provide sustained, peer-based support to individuals in need of individually tailored and highly specialized treatment services.
How it works:
Since Recovery Companions become an integral part of our client's lives, it is imperative that the match be the right one. Working closely with Peter and his team, we examine each client's unique needs, challenges, lifestyles and work environment.
A Recovery companion offers twenty-four hour a day guidance. The key component of Recovery companionship is that they are a role model and friend. They help clients continue to develop the skills learned in treatment, to move past harmful behaviors and succeed in their new life. They are the first line of defense against relapse. They accompany clients to appropriate 12-step meetings, are there to support and encourage continued aftercare and help identify and steer their charges clear of negative influences and triggers.
Drug and alcohol testing is available where appropriate and on request.
CLM sober companions have a minimum of ten years of 12-step recovery and have been personally screened and trained by Peter and David. They are rigorously screened and follow strict guidelines, are supervised by a certified addiction specialist, undergo extensive reference checks and are covered under professional liability insurance.
